This is a new Showtime series about a Miami police forensics expert who moonlights as a serial killer of criminals who he believes have escaped justice.
Has anyone else seen the pilot? What did you think?
You can read my review of it here .
The show starts on Sunday, Oct 1st.

Haunt, it's pretty damn good. It's probably my favorite new show this year. Michael C. Hall shines in this role - he makes Dexter the hottest serial killer ever.

Okay, just finally watched this and damn... I really, really like this. I've always had a soft spot for serial killer stories, and this puts a nice spin on it. Michael Hall is really great, though I have to say so far I'm really not particularly impressed with any of the other actors. I'm sure that'll change at some point, but at the moment I just don't feel the other actors are really bringing much. And Dex's sister bugs the crap out of me. *shrug*
But aside from that, I'm onboard this show for at least the first several eps. If it maintains this level of tension and morbid fascination I'm hooked for the long haul.
Sonuvabitch! I absolutely do NOT need any more shows to watch. My wife and I barely have enough time to breath as it is.

Heehee, Haunt. I thought you'd like it. I don't have a problem with the cast, I think they're all pretty good, especially MCH and Julie Benz. The sister doesn't annoy me, in fact I rather like her. I don't really care for the Leutenant, but I don't hate her either. She's just kind of meh.
This show has really affected me. After I first saw the pilot, I couldn't get it out of my head for days. I've shared the pilot with all my friends and they all are really excited about it. I plan on getting the books at some point. Not sure if I want to wait until the season is over or not.
I'm definitely keeping up with this show. I think it's pretty incredible, and wouldn't be nearly as compelling if someone else had been cast as Dexter. MCH rocks!

I saw the second episode today.
Before this episode I had wondered if Dexter was a virgin, since he doesn't seem to be interested in sex and chooses to be with Rita because she's also not interested in sex. But in this episode he mentions that in his previous experiences, when sex enters into things, it all goes badly. So I guess he has had sex before. I want to know more about his past relationships and what happened with them.
Rita's "I can't believe I found the one good truly decent man on the planet" comment was great. Little does she know! I don't blame her though. It's rare to find a man who's sensitive enough to want to wait until the time is right for you, and who needs that more than a survivor of rape? Dexter is so charming and sensitive and sweet -- hey, I'd fall in love with him too.
And I don't believe he's as completely devoid of feelings as he thinks he is. He doesn't say he doesn't enjoy making out with Rita, just that it's "interesting" and "not entirely unpleasant." Come on, admit it, Dexter. You like it!
I love how he is with her children. He seems to really like them, and his actions in how he takes care of them and Rita show that. Maybe he's just so disconnected from his feelings that he doesn't even realize when he's having them.
No matter what the posters on TWoP say, I really like Deb. She's tough and spunky and swears like a sailor. I think it's cute. She doesn't come off as stupid to me at all. She's more street-smart than intellectual, and that'll work for her in her job. One question: Is she younger or older than Dex? Their dynamic seems older brother/younger sister to me, but I don't remember the show telling us.
Great episode. Again, Michael C. Hall is stunning in this role, and Julie Benz's portrayal of the insecure ptsd girlfriend is realisitic. They seem to have a lot of chemistry and I find myself loving the scenes with their awkward attempts at lovemaking. I think I'm kind of shipping them.

I didn't like the book because of the strange tempo but I liked the show the tempo works better in this format, I thought the first episode was pretty interesting and I'll keep watching it.

esg - I can't watch those 2 eps because that link only works for US viewers but the little bit I have seen in promos and clips on YouTube look really geat. I hope it makes it here but I wouldn't hold out any hope in the near future. Maybe we will get it next year?
