We just discussed this in our latest podcast, number 21:

We certainly hope he does another Dr. Horrible show. Some of us are big Whedon fans, and even those of us on the show that aren't are big Dr. Horrible fans. And we always end up talking about something Joss does on every show.

It would be great if a sequel could be developed, but I'm not entirely sure how it'd work seeing as Penny's dead, Captain Hammer is a gibbering wreck. And also Dr Horrible has become what he's always wanted, losing himself in the process. So I'm not sure how a sequel would work. But Joss is a genious, he'd probably be able to make it work.

Well, the obvious solutiion for Penny would be to bring her back as a robot - Dr. Horrble IS an evil genius, after all. (Except, Joss has alrerady done that.) Captain Hammer could recover, and Dr. Horrible may not be so happy after all. (Billy may still be in there somewhere. Maybe he'll secretly bring Captain Hammer back.)

Joss and his little family think tank will find a way. Don't worry.

There is for sure going to be a number 2. Nathan Fillion has said he has seen lyrics. The only delay might be that NPH only has about two months off of HIMYM to film other projects so if the script isn't finished soon we will have to wait untill his break next spring. I for one would be willing to wait if it meant they could put all the time and energy into making number 2 just as amazing as the first.

My thoughts on a sequel?

Cast Kristen Bell as a super-villain-ess. Dr Horrible's already fallen for the good girl. Why not bring a bad girl into the mix?
