Oh, I hope that link is still working. I watched ep1 on it before the show started and I love love loved it! Best show I've seen this season. Too bad I don't get showtime. I've been hoping they make it available on iTunes but if they're going to give it away, I'm all over that.

Showtime is now offering shows through Amazon's Unbox. The Dexter pilot only costs a penny through Oct. 25th. TV Squad has more information.  I believe this is only available for U.S. customers. Sorry, Catalyst!

esg - that's OK,I'll forgive you this time! ;-) In compensation, I ordered two Dexter books form the library today, just to see what the fuss was about. One of them was only availalble in large print format - but I didn't care! I'm a rebel like that!

As a person who looked at the books long before the show. Don't judge a show by it's book. I like the show a whole lot more than I ever cared for the book. That could be because Dexter was more made for video instead of printed material. The flow of the show works much better for me than the book. If you want to see the show, I have them on DVD and could send them to you and rip them to avi so you could at least watch them on your pc.

ravenu - I finished both books over the weekend. I liked the characterization and the setting a lot. I thought the, books were vivid, dramatic, well-paced and built to ..... the lamest endings ever! Seriously, this guy cannot write endings. That said, I loved the character of Dexter especially and would still be there for the next book (if there is one) but the writer has got to work on better climaxes and denouement. Just makes me want to see the programme even more because, if it got that feeling of the books, but had a better ending, it would be sweet indeed!

It's a bit too gruesome for me at times, but I love Michael C. Hall in it.

Dexter gets a second season. Apparently, it's Showtime's top-rated show. I didn't know that.

RavenU - sorry, I didn't see your kind offer originally but thank you. I may have another way to get the eps *cough* but if that doesn't work, I will take you up on that offer.

Does it make us mentally deranged if we like this show?

Nebula1400 - I am not sure about the "mentally deranged" part but I know that I was describing Dexter to a friend earlier this evening. When I finished, he said "So we're rooting FOR the serial killer now?" Me: "Yep!" There was a brief but uncomfortable silence. Then we spoke about the weather for a bit. Hmmm ....
