Boyd Langton is my favorite character. He has the father role in his relationship with Echo and we have yet to understand his full position in her development. Like many of Joss Whedon's characters, Boyd Langton has another agenda we haven't discovered, and I am disappointed when he is not watching over Echo. or is he??? He reminds me of a more bad ass Giles.

My favorite character on dollhouse is Topher. There are many reasons that he is my favorite character but the main reason is he's is used to bring Joss's wit to the show. The show is AMAZING but because of the tone of the show there is not as much room for Joss's wit as in his other shows. Topher is the perfect character to insert some wit without taking the viewer out of the show. And as with all of Joss's characters you get the feeling that there is more to him than just what you see. Seeing his choice for his own doll made me want to see more from this character. That is what makes Joss great. Even the minor characters are absolutely amazing.

That is a really tough question, but I'd have to say that Alpha is my favorite character. Not just because its Wash when he forgot to take his meds, its also the EXTREME diversity of the character. I think that Alan Tudyk did a great job of portraying a man that is torn is so many different directions that sanity wasn't even an option anymore. Also the look on his face when he slashed up Whiskey gave me the serious willies.

So far, I've been loving Mellie's character, she's so obviously smitten, then to discover that it's all someone's creation...

My favorite character is Paul Ballard. Besides the fact that he tends to be able to beat the crap out of ANYONE who gets in his way (even his fellow, crass FBI agents) he's a much more complex person than at first lets on. *Spoilers ahead.* For a lot of the first season we thought he had an attraction to Caroline but we find out that it's really more a sense of purpose. He actually does like Mellie (and frankly, who wouldn't?) and not just some —literally— personalityless lithe beauty. That's not only very cool but also shows a great deal of depth. Ballard's past and motives seem to be equally complex. My bet is that he's still interested in bringing down the Dollhouse even though it looks like he's going to be working with them. Over all he's a character who cares a great deal for the people around him and also has a sort of modern day FBI agent warrior code: he may be pretty brutal in his means but it's all to get to honorable ends. Whether you agree with him or not he's a complex character and really fun to watch.

My favorite character is Dr. Saunders as well. We've come to know her as this demure (and in a way boring) person who fixes up the dolls. But her history as Whiskey reveals quite the opposite. She was quite confident and it was sexy. I know that both are imprints but it just tugs at you, wanting to know more about her. Is her past just as complicated as Caroline's? Will we ever get to find out? I hope somehow, someway, we do.

my favorite character will have to be Topher. it's an interesting choice for me since i don't think i actually like him, even though he is my favorite.
without him the dollhouse couldn't run. i'd like to see an ep where we get a clear picture of his backstory and find out why he's working at the dollhouse (and make sure he is also not actually a doll. i can see the dollhouse just using the same imprint for all of its scientists)
one of my favorite eps was where he requisitioned sierra for his birthday to be his friend. they were just so cute together playing laser tag and video games. it made me think about his character more as a real person rather than as some egotistical computer whiz.
even if he is a bit annoying and whiny sometimes, he is probably my favorite character.

My favorite is most definitely Topher. Moral ambiguity and all, he does have a fun personality. I also like that certain aspects of his character are a great big metaphor for Joss. He is essentially the one who 'writes' the episode. The NSA fiddling with the chair seems a lot like FOX fiddling with the first 5 episodes. I can just imagine Joss saying "You know you can't interrupt me during my process!" while he's writing.

Of course I tuned into Dollhouse because it was a Joss Whedon project, but it was also the triumphant return of my beloved Eliza Dushku to TV. Then Mellie came along and complicated my loyalties! Mellie was sweet, doting and self-deprecating. Miracle Laurie hit every note with a warm smile and innocent eyes.
(SPOILER) Then, a phone call and a few choice words later, she was body slamming a mofo through the coffee table! Damn, was that hot! Whether she was sweet Mellie, the doll November or Madeline, Miracle Laurie landed every scene perfectly. By the end of the season it ended up that I wouldn't be completely satisfied with an episode unless I got my Miracle Laurie fix. Yeah, she was that good. I can't wait to see how they write her back into the show. They better bring her back!
